Fernandez’s rally in San Jose was, above all, kinetic. Held alongside an active construction site, the setting reinforced the campaign’s visual identity. Supporters waved branded shovels reading “Pave the Way with Gabe,” as Fernandez moved through the crowd before the event, shaking hands and building familiarity.

That connection carried into his speech. “We believe in a future: where we can buy a home at an affordable price… where our streets and children are safe… and where we have the resources to combat wildfires.” Even against the noise of the crowd and surrounding construction, Fernandez’s voice carried clearly, allowing him to maintain control of the moment and keep supporters engaged.

He grounded his message in personal experience, reflecting on “holding my daughter… and thinking about the future that holds for her,” using family as a way to connect policy to everyday life.

His campaign touched on a wide range of issues:

• Housing affordability and tenant protections

• Public safety and community stability

• Climate resilience and environmental protection

• Workforce development through expanded apprenticeships

• Support for small businesses and workers

Still, the emphasis remained on momentum and message. Rather than focusing deeply

on one issue, Fernandez returned to a broader promise: “Together we will all build a

better future for California.”

The result was a rally that felt highly engaging and personal, with a campaign that is

ambitious in scope—but still defining which issues will ultimately anchor its case to

voters.
